levels Perhaps not on the immediate doorstep of Bishopston, but arguably the nearest large scale area of landscape to North Bristol, the Lower Severn Vale Levels are now being restored by a major conservation project - 'A Forgotten Landscape'.

These levels of low-lying floodplain along the shore of the Severn Estuary, make a very special place. The landscape boasts big skies; a sense of light and vast open space with two colossal white bridges spanning the silt-laden tides of the Severn Estuary.
