The anti-Costa campaign organiser, Richard Leonard has sent us this report concerning Costa's second application to the Council Planning Department:
The latest news from the Council is that Costa's second application to open on the Gloucester Road has been rejected by planning officers and will not now go to committee on 30th November. However, work is continuing on the premises at 14 Gloucester Road and enquiries to the people working there elicited the response that they expect "to be open in three weeks." This in spite of the second planning rejection. The same franchisee has opened on Whiteladies Road where the Council have now issued an enforcement order on the basis that the operation is not A1 (retail) but A3 (cafe) for which they do not have permission.
