train platformDid you know you can take your bike on train services locally and beyond?

We are so lucky in Bishopston to have Montpelier and Redland Stations nearby. It is very simple to put your bike on the train!

You don’t pay extra for the bike, just pay for yourself as normal. You don’t need to book a place for the bike: just turn up and use the bike area of the train indicated by a bike symbol. Try going to Severn Beach and cycling along the ‘sea’ front then sample the new café called “Just as You Are Tea Cottage” or “Shirley’s” or “The Downs Bakery”.

traindoorAnother good longer outing is to take the train from Montpelier/Redland to Temple Meads then take a train to Yatton where you can cycle the flat off-road ‘Strawberry Line’ all the way to Cheddar. Again there is no need to book your bike on the train.
