Update on the BRI car park . The proposal is opposed by many people not least because 'The local road system is already above capacity and traffic is at a standstill for substantial periods every day. The air in the Marlborough Street corridor is unpleasant for the thousands of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicle drivers.' https://www.bristolcivicsociety.org.uk/bri-car-park/

Yesterday morning, at peak commuter time, there was a challenge to see which was the fastest mode of transport, and guess, what:the bike was fastest and the car was slowest! In this order: bike, bus, train, car. Peacocks at 147 Gloucester Road has closed and was being emptied on Mon March 11th 2019. Peacocks has been there since 2002, Before that KwikSave (1978-2002), Woolworths (1939-1978), grocers stores (1890-1939). I, for one, am glad to see this store close. A capitalist outlet, using ridiculous marketing slogans: "LOVE. WANT. NEED." ... for me, none of the aforementioned words ever applied to their products. Good riddance.
