We are used to hearing about the need for sustainable buildings; all new buildings must be “Zero Carbon” by 2019.

However, we also hear about “Low Energy” buildings, “Low Carbon” buildings, and some people may even have heard about “Passivhaus”. In this talk, Craig White will explain the distinctions between these labels and guide us through the process of designing a sustainable building from scratch. He will also touch on the contested issue of how “sustainability” should be assessed. Craig’s talk will be illustrated with images of his projects throughout the country.  Venue:Conference Room, YHA building, 14 Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4QA  Monday 11th June 2012  7:30pm prompt start. To reserve a seat please email or telephone 0117 9463919.
