Hello, I'm writing from Life Cycle - we run a bike recycling project based at Horfield Prison.

We take old, unwanted or broken bikes, fixing them up and getting them back on the road at affordable prices. The project aims to reduce the number of old bikes scrapped or sent to landfill as well as encouraging more people to cycle and providing prisoners with new and employable skills.

The project relies entirely on donations of unwanted bikes to keep going: we are always looking for more bikes to fix-up and are keen to reach out more to people in the local community who might have an old bike or two languishing in a shed, garage or attic which they would like to see go to a good cause.

We're particularly keen to tell people about the project over the Christmas period, when old bikes might be replaced and looking for a new home.

Thanks, Ed Norton
