For its time, the landscaping of the early 1960's Cumberland basin Bridges Scheme, by renowned designer Sylvia Crowe, was a groundbreaking project of urban design.

This talk will cover the history of the design, tell of its latterday decline and neglect and conclude with its potential renaissance.

The two speakers are:

Stephen Wickham, a civil engineer and immediate past Chair of the Bristol Civic Society.

Ray Smith, involved in the Cumberland Basin Piazza Campaign for the last 3 years.
