The Bristol Civic Society have 3 events coming up in September and October.
First off is a visit to Lower Lodge at Ashton Court (Ashton Gatehouse, currently the subject of extensive refurbishment).
11.00 am on Wednesday 28th September. Numbers limited, possibly to 20 (depends if we need hard hats by then!).
The second event to put in your diaries is :
The Bristol Record Office - Home to 800 years of Archive by Allie Dillon
This will be on Thursday 29th September at 7.30 pm at Friends Meeting House, Redland
This event is re-arranged from 17th March (full details in Better Bristol 07 Autumn 2015). We will circulate a fuller description nearer the date.
And thirdly, the Bristol Heritage Form - Annual Conference - Theme : The Future of Bristol's Historic Estates
Thursday 27th October at St James Priory. 10.00 am to late
This will be an all day and evening event! But you can choose to attend any combination of morning, afternoon or evening.
The morning session will comprise workshops covering such issues as funding, options for management and ownership, and attracting and retaining volunteers (details still to be finalised).
The afternoon will comprise guided site visits, probably to Kings Weston, Stoke Park and Castle Park.
The early evening plenary session will see a keynote presentation from national expert and broadcaster Dr Jonathan Foyle together with presentations from Historic England and from our own Historic Forum.
There will be plenty of time for informal networking.
Full programme in due course. In the meantime, please note the date and reserve both day and evening!
