meeting 1At a lively public meeting of The Bishopston Society on 2nd October, a range of powerful ideas for improving Bishopston was gathered.

The ideas were the meeting's response to the key question of the evening, "How can we as ordinary citizens exploit people power to improve Bishopston?", following and in conjunction with our guest speakers.

Yet another consultation exercise from Bristol City Council. But this is an important opportunity to have your say and influence the way in which BCC needs to improve the city's future transport policy, not least in order to deal with the present serious problem of air pollution.

BCR street scene

The monthly BCR Street Scene volunteer drop in session is Monday September 10th 4.30 to 6pm at the Bishopston Library .

Do come and talk to us about:-

  • volunteering with the group
    advice on any street scene issues, waste, graffiti , fly tipping, overgrown hedges etc.
    help reporting to relevant organisations
    information about student community living. Advice leaflets, welcome flyers and collection calendars will be available.

Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers all face problems from cars speeding through rat runs; cars are frequently parked across dropped kerbs, close to junctions and on pavements; parked cars have been damaged; air quality is further compromised by vehicles circling streets looking for parking spaces.
