The Bishopston Society is concerned about this application for a bulky 2 storey side extension, full width dormer to the rear and the loss of the hip end and two chimneys to the roof.
The size and treatment of the side extension and the roof dormer, along with the loss of the two chimneys, has had a detrimental impact on the character of the house, which is a corner property and as such highly visible. These modern additions have spoilt the simple traditional appearance of the house, which in turn would have a negative impact on the visual integrity and amenity of the local area.
We recommend refusal.
